Our verdict on Moon.com

Moon.com does one thing and does it with unusual clarity: you pick Up or Down on a price, set a wager and a multiplier between 1x and 1000x, and the platform settles the outcome. There is no order book to read, no position sizing in lots, no margin call — the most you can lose is the amount you staked. For a first-time user that is a genuinely lower barrier than a CFD account, and the product deserves credit for it.

What the interface does not put in front of you is who is on the other side. The operator's terms state that Moon acts as the counterparty to every bet: your loss is its revenue. That is not an accusation — it is the same arrangement as a bookmaker, and it is legal where the operator is licensed. But it means the house has no structural interest in your winning, and it is why we score trust and licensing well below product and markets.

The score below is six criteria of equal weight. It comes to 8.3 out of 10: a strong product on a thin trust base.

  • Product and mechanics9.0

One-tap Up/Down, 1x–1000x, loss capped at the wager.

  • Markets and hours9.0

Crypto, stocks, gold, silver and forex, priced 24/7.

  • Fees and transparency7.5

Three fee types plus a settlement spread, all disclosed.

  • Payments7.5

Crypto in and out from $10 — but crypto only, no cards or bank.

  • Trust and licensing6.5

Offshore Anjouan licence; operator ownership not published.

  • Support and docs8.0

24/7 chat and a Help Center; no phone line.

Who runs Moon.com

The site is operated by Moon International Limited (Union of the Comoros, reg. 16151, Anjouan). It runs on an Anjouan licence, number ALSI-202601063-FI2, which we last confirmed in the public register on 21 August 2026. Anjouan is an offshore regime: it exists, it issues real licences, and it asks far less of a licensee than the UK, Malta or Cyprus do. The practical consequence is about recourse — if a dispute goes badly there is no ombudsman with teeth behind you.

Trade press has linked Moon to Easygo, the company behind Stake and Kick, on the basis of job listings. The operator has not confirmed any such connection, and neither its terms nor its privacy policy mention it. We report it as press speculation because that is what it is; treating it as fact would be inventing a corporate relationship. Sources: Moon.com Terms, Anjouan register, launch press release.

The product in detail

Markets cover crypto (BTC, ETH, SOL, XRP, DOGE, LTC, ZEC, HYPE and more), US stocks, index futures, gold and silver, and major forex pairs — around 45 by public accounts, all priced 24/7. Continuous pricing on a stock at the weekend is possible precisely because you are not buying the share: you are betting on an aggregated feed. That is a real convenience and a real difference from an exchange, and both halves belong in the same sentence.

The wager panel shows the Max Loss Price before you confirm, which is the number that actually matters. At high multipliers it sits very close to the current price — at 1000x, roughly a tenth of a percent away — so the position's life expectancy is measured in seconds on a fast market. Auto profit and loss closes are available and worth setting before you open rather than after.

Play Money is a full demo on the same live prices with no deposit and no verification. For a product whose risk is this front-loaded, that is the most useful feature on the site.

Money in, money out

Funding is crypto only in both directions, from about $10. There are no cards, no bank transfers and no e-wallets, which rules the site out for anyone who does not already hold coin. Withdrawals require identity verification, and the first one is therefore always the slowest — see deposit, withdrawal and KYC.

On cost, four charges apply: a 1% opening fee on the leveraged exposure, a rolling fee per 8-hour period, a performance fee on winning closes, and a settlement spread inside the price. Only the first has a published rate. Taken together they are what makes the expected value of a wager negative over time — the fee page works an example.

Pros and cons

What works

  • Loss genuinely capped at the wager; no margin calls, no negative balance
  • One decision to make, shown clearly: direction, stake, multiplier
  • Crypto, stocks, metals and forex in one account, priced around the clock
  • Play Money demo on live prices, no deposit and no KYC
  • Max Loss Price shown before you confirm
  • Entry from about $10, so testing costs little

What does not

  • The operator is your counterparty — the book profits when you lose
  • Four separate costs, three of them without a published rate
  • Crypto only: no card, no bank, no e-wallet
  • Offshore Anjouan licence, with limited practical recourse
  • Ownership not disclosed; the Easygo report is unconfirmed
  • New brand in open beta, with little public payout history

Who it suits, and who should skip it

It suits someone who already holds crypto, wants a very short-dated directional bet, understands that the house is the counterparty, and is comfortable treating the stake as entertainment spend rather than an investment.

It does not suit anyone looking to own an asset, anyone who needs card or bank funding, anyone who wants a regulator they can escalate to, or anyone who would be materially hurt by losing the stake. None of that is a flaw in the product — it is simply what the product is not.

FAQ

Is Moon.com worth it?

It is worth it for a specific person: someone who already holds crypto, wants a very short directional bet, and accepts that the operator is the counterparty. It is not worth it as a way to hold an asset or as an investment, and the fee structure makes the average result negative over time.

What is our Moon.com rating?

8.3 out of 10, across six criteria of equal weight: product and mechanics, markets and hours, fees and transparency, payments, trust and licensing, and support. The two that pull the score down are licensing and fee transparency.

Is Moon.com the same as Stake?

Trade press has linked the two through Easygo job listings. The operator has not confirmed it, and no document we can read says so, so we treat it as an unconfirmed report rather than a fact.

Can I lose more than I deposit on Moon.com?

No. The maximum loss on a bet is the amount wagered — there are no margin calls and no negative balances. That is a genuine feature, and it is not the same as the product being cheap: fees and the spread still apply.
